Emma's Joy Bears

A bear comes to you with love and prayers.

In memory of Emma and her love of teddy bears, the Heitman Family, through Heart of the Cumberland, wish to share this bear with you.

Emma’s Joy Bears was inspired by a lovely young lady named Emma Heitman. At 9 years old, Emma passed away suddenly. The Heitman family received many Teddy bears in Emma’s memory and wanted to share the bears with others. Heart of the Cumberland is honored to continue providing bears to the children in our community. Each bear is dressed with a green ribbon, which is Emma’s favorite color. Knowing a grieving child will have something that may help them through a very difficult time encourages the Heitman family.

Their daughter (and sister) was very kind-hearted and would be very proud to know she is helping grieving children. If you or someone you know has a child affected by the loss of a loved one, please contact us and we will arrange for delivery. The Emma’s Joy Bear program has grown to include sharing a bear with all elementary children who participate in Putnam County BEST Groups.
