Addressing Issues of Grief and Loss
With the support of our generous donors, Heart of the Cumberland provides materials and supplies for the BEST Groups that meet in Putnam County Schools. There are two facilitators per group who are recruited and trained through Heart of the Cumberland. These groups are designed for students in 2nd through 12th grade. BEST Groups meet toward the beginning of the school year for approximately 12 weeks during non-academic periods of the school day. Students can be referred for a BEST Group by a parent, teacher, administrator or another loved one. Middle school students will be given the opportunity to self identify with a survey conducted at the beginning of the school year.
